All children are required to bring a music stand. Please see below for more information.
Only items on the kit list are to be brought to Band Camp.
NO mobile phones or valuable toys (electronic etc)
NO lollies – any lollies will be confiscated and parents contacted to collect their children
NO money – there is no opportunity to spend money
NO food from home– unless requested by the medical volunteers due to allergies. This is a safety issue. There are children on the camp with allergies, and other children do not necessarily know who those children are. If your child is found with food, regardless of the hour, you will be contacted to come and collect your child

Please pack only what is on the list. The more the kids have in their bag, the harder it is for them to find what they need and keep track of their belongings.
Note: Insect repellant and sunscreen are not considered 'medication' so can stay in your child's bag. You do not need to hand them in to the Medical Team.

IN MAIN BAG
To keep all items together you may want to consider a larger bag that will accommodate a sleeping bag inside to minimise orphaned articles. Alternatively, tying the bags together will also help.
Bedding
One fitted sheet, pillowcase and pillow
Note: The mattresses at CRU are thick foam covered in plastic so a fitted sheet is highly recommended for comfort (and to stop sticking to the plastic!).
Sleeping bag or blanket
Note: It can get warm in March so a sleeping bag may be too hot for your child. A blanket or top sheet are alternative options. If using a sleeping bag, please also bring a fitted sheet for comfort on the plastic coated mattress.

For example, at least two changes of play clothes, underwear, socks, light shoes, walking shoes, two warm tops, raincoat

It is really important that every student brings a music stand to Band Camp.
The Band Program has around 50 stands which are used on a daily basis for band rehearsals. However, during Band Camp, we often have two bands plus tutorials at any one time, which means we need at least 150 stands. If we don't have enough stands, it makes it challenging to run rehearsals and tutorials and the valuable rehearsal time is eaten up while parent volunteers move stands between rooms.
Music stands are brought to school on Friday and left in the school in crates. Students can drop them off in the morning with their instruments.
All the stands are taken to CRU Galston Gorge on Friday afternoon and remain there over the weekend. The stands are mixed together and distributed randomly, your child will not have their own stand.
At the end of the concert on Sunday, stands can be collected. Don't panic if you can’t find your stand, everything comes back to school, and as long as it is labelled, it will be returned to your child – it’s the miracle of the stands!
As stands are transported by the Band Committee on Friday afternoon, we do ask that you only bring the fully collapsible stands as these are much more compact for transport.
Please leave stand bags at home, these are almost certainly going to get lost over the weekend, and are not required.
For transportation, we need fully collapsible music stands. These can be completely folded down to a small size. Please don't bring stands that do not fold down. See image for examples.
Stands can be purchased from music retailers. Turramurra Music, located on the Pacific Highway at Turramurra, has competitively priced fully collapsible stands.
