CRU Galston is located at the end of Crusaders Rd, Galston. It can be reached via the Galston Gorge or Pennant Hills Rd.
During Band Camp, we have sole and complete access to the entire CRU Galston site.
Band Camp arrival/registration is at the Gym (marked as 1 on the map), next to the car park. Sign out will also be here Sunday afternoon.
Band Camp Central is located around the position marked 11 on the map. All parent volunteers are to meet here.
Overnight accommodation is in the cabins (marked in blue on the map)
Tutorials are also held in the cabins (before the children move in their luggage) plus Lyrebird, Treetops, Ridgeside and The Hub (marked in purple on the map).
Full band rehearsals are held in Valleyview and Eaglesview (marked in purple on the map).
Recreation activities are held in the Gym and at positions marked 35, 36 and 44 on the map.
Meal times are held in the Dining Hall.
The Sunday concert is held in the Gym.
During the Band Camp weekend, children stay in cabins with bunk beds and ensuite bathrooms.
They will be grouped by school year and gender with two parents staying in and supervising each cabin (in a separate room to children).
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served in the Dining Hall, seated at long tables.
Morning and Afternoon Tea will be served just outside the Dining Hall on a trolley with seating in surrounding areas.
During Band Camp there will be a mix of full band rehearsals and instrument tutorials.
These take place throughout the CRU Galston site.
On Saturday, CRU staff run activities such as High Ropes, outdoor low ropes, challenge courses or laser tag (varies each year).
On Sunday, our volunteer recreation team use the CRU facilities - beach volleyabll court, basketball court, and sporting oval, to run a variety of game and puzzle sessions.
During free time after meals or in the evening, the children have access to Gaga Ball pits, a giant chess set and table tennis tables.
